Brief Bio

Many athletes that relocated into the recording company during the '90s found rap to be their specialty, but Wayman Tisdale shifted the ground to modern jazz music with his 1995 debut album, Power Ahead, taped for the Motown subsidiary MoJazz. A 1984 Olympic gold medalist in basketball, All-American at the College of Oklahoma, as well as member of the Phoenix Suns, Tisdale plays bass in his Fifth Quarter Band. He authorized with MoJazz in 1995, releasing Power Forward later that year. By 1996, his 2nd cd, In the Area, had appeared; Choices adhered to 2 years later; Face to Face was issued in early 2001.
